India Transit Visa: Some visa-required travellers transiting through India must obtain the appropriate transit permission before travel.

India Tourist eVisa

Eligible passport holders visiting India for permitted tourism and short recreational purposes.

Allows

Tourism and other activities permitted for the selected e-Tourist Visa option; it does not authorise employment.

Validity

India offers 30-day, one-year and five-year e-Tourist Visa options. The applicable validity begins as stated for the selected option on the official portal.

Double entry for the 30-day option; multiple entry for the one-year and five-year options.

Maximum stay

Stay limits vary by nationality and option. The official portal states an overall maximum of 180 days in India in a calendar year for e-Tourist Visas.
