Sri Lanka’s current sample ETA acknowledgement advises a response within 48 hours after the authority receives the application. This is response guidance, not guaranteed approval. A referral can require further information or contact with Immigration.

A saved draft or private-service payment does not start government processing. Staff collect outstanding answers, check the reviewed information and file after your authorisation. Apply before travel and allow extra time if Immigration requests action.
Acknowledgement, approval and referral are distinct
We record the actual acknowledgement and attach the approval or referral notice to your account. An acknowledgement confirms receipt, not permission to travel. Keep your approval available for arrival; admission remains an immigration decision.
